Operative dentistry is the art and science of the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of defect of teeth that do not required full coverage restoration for correction. Such treatments should result in restoration of proper tooth form, function and esthetics by maintaining the physiological integrity of the teeth in harmonious relationship with the adjacent hard and soft tissues, all of which should enhance the general health and welfare of the patient.
Endodontics is that branch of dentistry that deals with the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the pulp and periapical tissues compatible with good health.
We are varyingly engaged in basic science and clinical research, and in teaching dental students.
Vision
The loss of teeth affects different people in a variety of ways. The patients become handicapped and they cannot perform the normal functions confidently. Not only is their routine life hampered but also general health and nutrition is affected due to non availability of functional components of the oral cavity. The prevention of such loss of teeth comes under the broad spectrum of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.
One of the greatest assets a person can have is a smile that shows beautiful natural teeth. The restoration of a smile is one of the most appreciated and gratifying services. In fact the positive psychologic effects of improving a patient´s smile often contribute to an improved self-image and enhanced self-esteem. These improvements make Conservative Esthetic Dentistry particularly gratifying for the dentist and represent a new dimension of dental treatment for patients
