Department Of Human Anatomy
General human anatomy is one of basic sciences, the study of parts of human body. Anatomy is the branch of natural science which deals with the structural organization of living things. It includes general & gross anatomy; microscopic anatomy; Osteology;embryology; genetics; radiology.
Knowledge of anatomy is absolutely essential for further study of dentistry & for successful & proper dental practice.
We take lectures using power point presentation and chock & board. Gross anatomy is study of anatomical structure that can be seen by unaided vision. It includes topographical, regional &anthropotomy structure. Osteology is the study of structure of bone; skeletal elements, teeth. It determines individual race &medicolegal aspects. Student actually learn on real skeletan& individual bones by demonstrations. We demonstrate histology using microscopes with slides, charts; as it is the study of those parts of body that can’t be seen with naked eye. Study of embryology is essential as it encompasses study of congenital disorders that occur before birth known as tetrology. We teachby using 3D animation and models of embryology; radiology byusing X ray films. Genetic is a branch of biology concern with study of genes; genetic variations & hereditary. We take lectures on genetics by using charts and photographs of various syndromes. Living & clinical anatomy is studied by inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation tation, endoscopy (bronchoscopy, gastroscopy). We show them clinical instruments and convey information how to use; indication. We do dissection on cadavers to show position, relations of organ systemsKnow; we also demonstrate sectional anatomy of HNF. We also use prosected section of parts of body & brain for more understanding of students. Department maintain museum for same.
Mission :
We would like to encourage students to participate in seminars, microteaching, and integrated teaching in groups.
Promote students to cut cadavers during dissection
We also arrange motivational speeches. Department is very strict about attendance of students & for that we take PTA meetings.
Increase awareness & enthusiasm of students for subject knowledge
Staff is always promoted for research activity
We have a huge departmental library which contains books of all authors of Anatomy. We have mega lecture hall includes all latest facilities like sound system, digital board, CCTV survillence with well organized & comfort sitting arrangement with proper ventilation.
Our teaching Learning is aligned with learning outcomes of the subject. Opportunities provided to students for midcourse improvement of performance through Timely administration of Continuous Internal Evaluation. We maintain assessment and feedback on time
AIMS
Department of Anatomy where the dead teachers the living
Vision
Students should gain knowledge and insight into. They should know anatomical basis for disease & injury. While performing clinical procedures, they should know relevant disposition of organs in body; cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They must elaborate their skills about nervous system to locate site of lesion.
Objectives
Students’ ability to use the microscope properly to study tissues
Adequate knowledge of the development, structure, relations & functions of human body in health & diseases from human anatomy, genetics, embryology and histology.
To identify the features in radiographs
To detect congenital anomalies & abnormalities
To locate various structures of body & to mark the topography of living anatomy
Teaching methods used by faculty for lectures and practical :-
Chalk & board
Power point presentation
Ransparencies
Practicals: Demonstrations & dissection using Histology slides, Embryology models, Gross Models , Human Dead body, Human Skeleton, Xrays of HNF, instruments for Clinical procedure
Interaction with students by asking questions; summarisation of topic
