Department of Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is one of the eight recognized specialties of dentistry. Dentists extensively trained in the stream are called Prosthodontist. Prosthetic Dentistry is the dental specialty which deals with the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.
Treatment modalities
Prosthodontists undergo extensive training to develop an understanding of the dynamics of a smile, the preservation and restoration of oral health, and the creation of tooth replacements.
