World Cancer Day
On 4 th Feb 2025, the occasion of “World Cancer Day” ICC (Vishaka committee) , IQAC of Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s, Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray Dental College and Hospital, Panchavati, Nashik along with Nashik Obstetric and Gynaecological society (NOGS) in collaboration with All India body (FOGSI) conducted a program on cervical cancer awareness and HPV vaccination. The program was held in Lecture Hall 1, MGV’s KBH Dental College and Hospital, Nashik from 9.30 to 10.30 am. The speaker for the session was Dr. Ashwini Sachin Pawar, DNB, DGO, FCPS, Consultant OBGYN, practicing in Nasik since 2006. Other members in the session included renowned Gynaecologists including Dr. Varsha Baste, Vice President of FOGSI, Dr. Sangita Wagh, President of NOGS, Dr. Anjali Kulkarni, Secretary of NOGS and Dr. Kalpana Sankalecha, Vice President of NOGS. The objective of the program was to create awareness about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination among students and teaching staff. The program was well attended by the UG Students, Teaching and Non- teaching staff. The outcome of the activity was that in depth knowledge about prevention of Cervical cancer and HPV vaccine was imparted followed by an interactive session with students and staff.
