Detect and Defend Cancer Screening Camp
"Detect and defend cancer screening camp"; was conducted by IDA- Head Office all over Maharashtra in RTO offices. MGV’S KBH Dental College &; Hospital in association with IDA participated in screening on 3 rd ,4 th &; 5 th April,2024 at RTO office, Nashik from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The objective was to screen oral diseases with special emphasis on oral potentially malignant disorders and oral cancer among Truck drivers and other RTO officers under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Bhavsar, Past National Vice-President of IDA), Dept of Public health Dentist and Dr Jitendra Surana sir, President IDA Nashik. 7 Interns participated and contributed their services as volunteers. Treatment of patients were carried out in the dental van.
Volunteers screened the participants and performed primary treatment of patients. Patients with habit were further referred to the hospital for further treatment and investigations. Awareness about cancer prevalence and information about cessation of tobacco was also given. Total 130 screening, 6- GIC restoration and 30 scaling were done.
