Patient care workshop Batch 2024-25

A Patient Care Workshop for freshly joined interns was conducted on Saturday, 29 th March, 2025 at Lecture Hall 201 from 10 am onwards. The program was attended by all interns and concerned staff members.

The program began with a warm welcome to the interns by program incharge, Dr. Shivpriya Aher.

Firstly, a very important and life saving aspect of Basic Life Support [BLS] was stressed upon by HOD [Oral Surgery], Dr Sachin Dahivelkar sir. The students were also provided mannequins to perform hands on demo of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation [CPR]. He also briefed the students about the management of common medical emergencies in dental practice.

Dr Amit Agarwal sir in his session on “Code of conduct” explained the students about the behavior expected from them in the Institute and premises.

The concept of practicing ethical dentistry was covered in the workshop “Professional ethics”.

In clinical Practice, Infection Control is of utmost importance and more so very important specially after facing a Covid pandemic. Dr. Anuradha Jagtap explained all essentials for Infection control in dentistry and also stressed upon importance of proper Biomedical Waste Management [BMW].

Dr. Amit Agarwal in his workshop “Communication skills” emphasized on the importance of how soft skills are a basis to gain confidence for good future clinical practice

The students walked out with a thorough understanding about the clinics and importance of good ethical behavior while handling patients.

The objective of the workshop was to help the clinic entering interns gain knowledge about essentials of patient care in their future clinical dental private practice.
